MI Pay is a Unified Payments App for Mobile recharges and other Bill Payments. For faster and safer transactions, it runs on UPI payment system. This App is pre-installed on latest MI smartphones. For who already using Xiaomi Smartphone, MI Pay can be downloaded from MI Store. You need an MI account in order to use MI Pay Service.
Currently MI Pay is only available for MI devices. It is integrated with MIUI OS. By using MI Pay we can do Mobile recharges, DTH recharges, Postpaid, Electricity, Gas, Water, Broadband and Land line Bill Payments etc. MI partnered with ICICI Bank to bring this payment service in India.
Apart from UPI Payments, the MI Pay users can also use their debit card, credit card, wallets and Internet banking for doing the Payments. The Bharat Bill pay platform is integrated with MI Pay for increased merchant payment operations. This platform supports more than 120 vendors.
MI Pay users needs to create a UPI ID using their mobile number linked with their bank account. This helps them to check their bank balance, make bill payments and transfer and receive money from others. National Payments Corporation of India has given certification to run MI Payment service in India along with Reserve Bank’s authorization.
How to setup MI Pay Account
- Install MI Pay from MI Store.
- Sign Up MI Pay using your MI account.
- Select Link Bank Account option.
- Select your Bank and Account number.
- Enter your Debit card details.
- Verify the OTP and continue.
- Create a UPI ID and UPI Pin.
- Your bank account will now linked with MI Pay.
- You can now do Bank Transfers and Bill Payments.
Right now the MI Pay is available in India and China only. You cannot make transactions from India to China and vice-versa. The MI lovers are waiting for MI Pay to be available in Non MI devices and may release on Google PlayStore and AppStore. Features of MI Pay
The created UPI ID is a unique id that can given to others for receiving payments. MI Pay runs on peer to peer transaction technology and can sent and receive money easily with your friends. The Payment can be sent to your friends right from the Contacts App. You can also manually choose people from your MI Pay account.
While creating the UPI account, you must insert sim card which is linked with your bank account. Otherwise we cannot create UPI ID without verifying the OTP. You need to create different UPI ID for each account number, if you are having more than one account in the same bank.
If your friend is not having the MI Pay, you can sent him money by getting his bank account details. You can sent money to another bank account by using Bank account number and the IFSC code. The money will be sent out from the linked UPI bank account. Apart from these payments, you can avail option to make payments at stores where MI Pay or UPI payment is accepting. You only need to scan the QR code displayed at the store and enter the amount needed for the Payment.
